The ArctiChildren InNet network held a planning seminar in Luleå, Sweden on February 6th and 7th at Luleå University of Technology.
Altogether 27 participants took part from Finland, Sweden, Norway and Russia. Wednesday started with results of a questionnaire conducted in October 2012 in Russia, Norway and Finland. We also got hear from Pia Lumme (researcher, University of Lapland) about her research work including pilot school children and their media skills. After lunch break the program continued with challenges and ways to use the web page in the cross border development work. Anna-Karin Lindqvist from the Luleå University of Technology presented her research work with pilot schools in Sweden. Wednesday’s last presentation was given by Love Nordenmark from UMO.se which is an online youth counseling center for 13-25 year olds. The first day ended with an exquisite dinner at CG restaurant down town Luleå.
The second day of the seminar started cross border ICT development work in the project lead by the Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences and a workshop. All the participants thought of ways to use to use the web page in the cross border development work. After lunch the project network discussed project activities during spring 2013 and autumn 2013 and how to commit the schoolchildren to development work. The seminar finished at 14.00 with some coffee and snacks. Presentations from the seminar can be found in Materials.
