This study is about European consumer attitudes and trends. In this article Marigold has studied trends in messaging, personalization, privacy and advertising. These factors are important to the planning and forecasting marketing in future. The knowledge of the consumer is an important signal that brand can consider when thinking of success for business.
Findings
By messaging study means that when customers are making purchases, they use email most of the time and customer services are mainly happening on the internet or some other social media platform. Article or study shows for the reader that nearly half (48%) of consumers have made a purchase directly from an email they received in the last year. That means that when marketing company should use email as a way of communication and marketing. For me this gives important information when thinking of advertising and communicating with customers in internet or email. It is important to realize that well done work of finding interested customers to find newsletters, for example, can be a marketing tool in future.
By personalization and privacy study article means personalization for customers can be done well or it can expel consumers. Timing in marketing and how a company collects data are important factors in marketing. Good timing and data collecting methods are, for example, giving recommendations based on previous purchases. So good marketing is based on personalization, privacy and data collecting methods. I find this fact very interesting because I think we all have had recommendations based on our previous purchases and how many of us have got the idea that this is a marketing tool? It is possibility to get more customers only based on preavious behaviour.
Same thing is working with the advertising part. Realizing the fact that consumers are using ad blockers and other privacy applications is marketing the right way more important than ever. Good tips are using information on websites that is open for everyone, no need to sign in to anything and giving privacy for the website users. This fact helpes me to think about advertising and marketing for companies that i have worked for or am still working for. Marketing your thing should not be done in a creepy stalking way. If you have good product and quality of service, customers will find you and buy from you!
Conclusion
Understanding the best of what is working in companies existing efforts, and adding the fact of consumer trends would be an amazing approach to growth. I understood by reading the paper that consumer trends are the guidelines that show companies how to market their products or services. By advertising the right way, you can get more consumers or marketing in the wrong way you can make them run away fast.

Thank you for your blog post. I like advertisement, that doesn’t “feel” like advertisement. For example recommendations based on previous purchases. I can’t say why it doesnt feel like advertisement for me, maybe it is the fact that I have already bought something from them, and probably found it useful. It sure is a great way to use it like advertisement, without people like me to understand it.
