This trip was part of the REWO project, which focuses on enhancing cooperation between educational institutions and the tourism industry. It was an amazing opportunity to blend learning with real-world experiences in a stunning setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From Research to Working Life: Students as Knowledge Brokers for Entrepreneurial Development<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/pohjoisentekijat.fi\/2024\/05\/03\/best-practices-for-transferring-knowledge-to-working-life\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">REWO project<\/a> is an Erasmus+ funded initiative. It focuses on creating sustainable methods for integrating tourism students&#8217; research into working life. Through international cooperation, the project aims to strengthen the connection between education and the working world, offering both sectors innovative solutions for development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Partners include universities from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Finland; Lapland University of Applied Sciences (LUAS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Norway; University of Stavanger (UiS)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Slovenia; University of Maribor (UM)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Portugal; The Estoril Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotel Studies (Eshte)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>(Lapland University of Applied Sciences, 2023).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Week to Remember<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Stavanger is known for its breathtaking natural landscapes, from majestic fjords to rugged mountains. While the main focus of the trip was academic, we also had the chance to explore the city and its surroundings. And Stavanger has a lot to offer! Here&#8217;s a glimpse into my week:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"819\" src=\"https:\/\/blogi.eoppimispalvelut.fi\/cemit\/files\/2024\/09\/Stavanger_Oldtown_Preikestolen_Pulpitrock-1024x819.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-739\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogi.eoppimispalvelut.fi\/cemit\/files\/2024\/09\/Stavanger_Oldtown_Preikestolen_Pulpitrock-1024x819.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogi.eoppimispalvelut.fi\/cemit\/files\/2024\/09\/Stavanger_Oldtown_Preikestolen_Pulpitrock-300x240.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogi.eoppimispalvelut.fi\/cemit\/files\/2024\/09\/Stavanger_Oldtown_Preikestolen_Pulpitrock-768x614.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogi.eoppimispalvelut.fi\/cemit\/files\/2024\/09\/Stavanger_Oldtown_Preikestolen_Pulpitrock-1536x1229.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/blogi.eoppimispalvelut.fi\/cemit\/files\/2024\/09\/Stavanger_Oldtown_Preikestolen_Pulpitrock.jpg 2000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exploring Stavanger&#8217;s Charm<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Friday<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a day of workshops, we had a guided city tour, soaking up the history and charm of Old Stavanger with its white wooden houses, and experiencing the lively, colorful atmosphere of \u00d8vre Holmegate, one of the city&#8217;s most famous attractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Challenge accepted!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Saturday<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We conquered the hike to Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen). As a Lappish girl more accustomed to flatter terrain \u2014 we have fells, not mountains \u2014 this was a truly breathtaking experience. And not just because I was out of breath, but also because of the awe-inspiring views!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An Eye-Opening Salmon Safari<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Sunday<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We had an unforgettable Salmon Safari in Mo Laksegard, floating down the Suldalsl\u00e5gen river in drysuits and trying to observe wild salmon and sea trout up close underwater. Overall, it was truly an eye-opening and thrilling experience! Find out more about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fjordnorway.com\/en\/see-and-do\/salmon-safari-in-suldalslagen-in-sand\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Mo Laksegard Salmon Safari<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Farewell Dinner and Reflections<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Monday<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back to the workshops, followed by a delicious farewell dinner at Fish&amp;Cow. If you&#8217;re interested in sustainable tourism, Stavanger and its surroundings are definitely worth exploring!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Wrap Up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In conclusion, my trip to Norway was an amazing experience that blended academic learning with personal growth. I\u2019m eager to apply what I\u2019ve learned in my future studies and career. If you\u2019re passionate about sustainability and tourism, I highly recommend exploring similar projects like REWO.
