Hi! I’m Nelli and here I’m going to tell you about my vacation in Rome, Italy and I also share some travel tips with you!
About my vacation
I traveled to Rome almost 4 years ago, it was summer 2018, I was so excited because that was my first time in Italy and also it was my birthday! Even though I was there only weekend (from Friday to Sunday), I experienced so many things! I stayed in very nice hotel which was so close about everything. There were so many restaurants and stores around the hotel. I remember that even that famous fountain Fontana Di Trevi was only 1,5 km away from there.
When I arrived to Rome, it was really warm day, about 35 degrees. at the first day I was just shopping and I walked nearby the hotel but on next day I had some plans. I woke up early and I went to eat breakfast and I can say that Italian breakfast is way more different than breakfast in Finland. There were so many sweets like many different pastries.
When I was booking my flights to Italy I said that I definitely got to see Fontana Di Trevi and my dream came true. It was as beautiful and amazing like in pictures. It was very crowded and there were a lot of tourists but no wonder because Fontana Di Trevi is one of the most famous sight in Italy and in the world!
I also went to visit to the zoo, there were a lot of same animals like in Finland but it was still very different. There were many small lizards walking on the streets and there was a large bird a free. It was kinda scary but the bird was kind and it just casually walked in the zoo.
If you ever hesitate to take a small weekend trip to Europe just do it! There’s so many things you can see even if you’re staying there only couple days so I highly recommend it. This trip was my favorite vacation so far!
My tips:
- If you ever go to Rome, you need to see Fontana Di Trevi. It’s absolutely beautiful!
- Italian food is delicious! I recommend you to try a Italian food, of course there were a lot of fast food companies but when you go to Italy just try Italian food. I was lucky that there was a very elegant and great Italian restaurant nearby the hotel. So it only took about 10 min to walk in there.
- You need to taste gelato! In my opinion it’s better than ice cream!
- If you have time and you want to, go to visit Vatican city, smallest country in the world, it’s nearby the Rome.
