Two companies with the same focus but different approaches

This blog will help you better understand the hotel industry and the difference between large and small companies. I will compare two hospitality companies located above the Arctic Circle in the north. The large one will be a company located in Finland in Rovaniemi. The capital of Santa Claus and the largest winter tourist industry Santa Claus Holliday Village. The second company is small and located also above the Arctic Circle in Murmansk called Barentz Finnish Guest Houses.

Barentz Finnish Guest Houses (Barentz Guest Houses)

Barentz Finnish Guest Houses is a young, privately-owned company. But has quickly gained a foothold in the tourism market, thanks to its comfortable and numerous accommodation facilities and its location in the heart of Murmansk’s sports industry.

Hospitality rules and facilities that every hotel must comply with: fire safety rules, the area must be guarded or video surveillance of the area must be maintained. Be compelled to use hypoallergenic safe cleaning products. Have to be cleaned daily by maids. Need to have a separate linen storage room. Each accommodation unit should have an information folder. The hotel should register residents upon check-in, guests are greeted by an administrator, who assigns a room and accepts payment. The accommodation unit has contracts for electricity, water, and rubbish collection. All accommodation facilities have an administrator, a maid, an accountant, an electrician, and a locksmith on staff. All hotels use a Channel Manager (reservation checker). Each hotel spends money on advertising. Also for placing the hotel on resources for booking, resources take a percentage for booking or its monthly payment to get access.

Similarities and differences

Smaller hotels, using the Barents Hotel as an example, can make money by renting out rooms, selling any drinks, selling souvenirs or additional services such as transfers, and selling food. Santa Claus Village is also using it. Using the example of Santa Claus Village, I will tell you how the big hotels make money and what the small hotels can’t do. Santa Claus Village is Santa’s home and it has helped make a whole brand known, trusted, and through which the hotel earns extra money.

The Santa Claus Village website lists the companies they cooperate with, Ranua Wildlife Park, Ounasvaara Ski Resort, FINAVIA, FINNAAIR, NORVEGIAN, VR, Santatelevision, Taigakoru, Mariela Pokka, and many more on the website santaclausvillage With such well-developed logistics and elaborate infrastructure, Santa Claus Village is able to attract many more customers and increase earnings. Santa Claus Village has 14 restaurants and bars on its premises. Reindeer breeding, tours, reindeer skin, and reindeer horn products. Santa Claus Village is a small town located inside Rovaniemi.

I will make a conclusion

The two companies are very similar because one is just starting out and the other has already established itself In my opinion, much of the success of Santa Claus Village has come from their branding efforts and the successful investors they have attracted, who have been able to create such a huge industry.
