When Covid-19 started I was graduating from high school. It was a hard spring for me because a lot of things got cancelled and I had to change plans. I was working as a nanny that autumn because I did not see why I should apply to any school´s because everything was online and I did not want to be stressed like that.

Anyway, I have been studying for 6 months now and most of my classes have been online. It sometimes feels like I am listening to a podcast and talking to a wall. I´ve had a few courses at school and some courses had an option, but it changed because of the government.

This is what most of my days look like.

Here are some positive and negative things about online school

    1. You can go to school almost anywhere
    2. You can be at school with your phone or computer and you don´t really need to worry about looks either.
    3. Eyes might get hurt or a lot of migranes
    4. You can have snacks or drinks almost whenever you want
    5.  You don´t meet a lot of new people or see a lot of friends which has been hard for me
    6. I have more time for hobbies and time for myself too so it´s not just about school and hobbies.

In my opinion what school´s should do during pandemic is that some days classes are at school and some days online.  If your degree is supposed to be contact teaching (at high school during covid they have long days just staring at the computer screen and after that all of the studying and homework) In my opinion it´s not helping that they have a month when you can go to school and after that a month when you stare at the screen.

A lot of teachers have extra work with this and they can´t help other students much.  Over the past few years a lot of people have dropped out of school (most of them are under 18). It´s also not easy when studying for your future career to study online and not learn anything practical.

I hope that all of you are well,

Henna
