Wish I Was in Scotland

I guess normally the travel bloggers write about a destination where they have visited before. That’s fine but what if you have not visited that many places of the world. Now we will mix things a little bit and I will tell you about my dream holiday where I have not been yet.

Why Scotland?

Yep, Scotland it is, but you may wonder why. From a child I have always fancied the challenging but astounding sceneries of the land. Many movies and TV series such as Harry Potter and Game of Thrones have used those views to illustrate their stories. I believe when you have watched those series for years and longed to get there you will eventually someday start looking for flight tickets.

When it comes to the culture, I have to say that I have relatives living in England and I kind of fancy their way of living. You can speak to the local people with their native language and also get into really deep conversations. The architecture pleases me and just wondering around the streets would be so nice.

Edinburgh or Glasgow?

My answer is both! If I would eventually get to Scotland, I would take my time there. Then I would have the time to visit both big cities and also some rural places. Besides a good reminder is that the distances in Scotland are not as big as in Finland where I have been used to sit all day in train.

Back to the main question. Edinburgh is the capital city Of Scotland and even has their Old and New towns on UNESCO World Heritage List. Instead, Glasgow is the biggest city of Scotland and is known of its many universities and big student community. Obviously in both cities you can visit numerous art galleries, museums, restaurants and pubs.

My top 5 picks to see in Scotland:

  1. Glencoe Valley is breathtakingly beautiful valley containing many mountain peaks and lochs and also some dark history.

  2. Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh caught my eye with its very pleasing architecture filled with pretty flowers and plants.

If you believe in manifesting, then now it’s your turn!

    Best regards,
