When I got my first cat I never thought I would become so passionate about the general well being of all cats in the world. It is not just liking and owning cats, it is a way of life. It is a passion that runs deep, love that knows no bounds. At first you get your cat anything and everything it could need: great quality food, most comfortable beds, all the toys, best possible cat trees, best possible sandbox.

You commit to scooping and cleaning dirty litter and hairballs for at least next ten years. And you will do it happily. Little by little your life will start becoming very cat centric. You can turn any conversation into a discussion about your beloved feline friend. Your home starts turning in to a sanctuary of cats. You fill your phone’s camera roll with endless pictures of you and your cat, capturing and sharing every adorable moment for everyone to see your furry little friend’s cuteness. Is it starting to become too much? Too insufferable?

Cat loving lifestyle

After a while you start getting an itch that only getting a second cat will sate. And also you have started to feel guily about leaving your cat alone while your at work or school. Even tho the cat will most likely just enjoy the peace and quiet. Despite that second cat was adopted. In my experiense the want to expand your love for cats grew rapidly after getting the second cat. You start wanting to make a difference for cats and begin to loudly advocate about different issues that are affecting cats, such as impirtance of microships, neutering cats, not letting cats roam free outside, using high protein healthy wet or raw foods, bringing your cat to the vet regularly. Also donations of money or supplies for different animal protection foundations is a good way to offer help. This advocation can feel pushy to other people even tho you don’t mean to come across like that. Is it insufferable to be a cat person?

It is totally fine to have passions

At the end of the day it is ok to be passionate about things, be it painting, gaming or your pet. Everything around you has an impact on your personality, so it’s not at all bad that your beloved pet, which brings you so much joy and happiness, has a significant influence on your life. Humans love sharing things that they love and make them happy, so it is just better to forget about being “insufferable” cat owner and life your life!
