In this blog post I’m introducing myself. I’m also going to tell my expectations for the study unit Customer Experience Management in Tourism.
My name is Ella and I’m 28 years old. I’m originally from Oulu but living in Ruka, Kuusamo at the moment. Here in Ruka I’m working at ski school as a ski instructor and at the office.
On my free time (when I still had some before I started to study), I like to go to the nature for walking, biking, or cross-country skiing with my friends.
Expectations for the study unit
I did not have any expectations for this course. When I finally saw the schedule at the beginning of January, I was a bit shocked about the amount of the work. I’m working full-time (and more) so I was just thinking if there’s enough hours per day and days per week to do all the required assignments.
After few weeks from the start of this course, I have realized that there is. The subjects are quite light and the lectures are easy to watch even after a day at work. It’s possible to concentrate only on one assignment per week.
Marketing is very important and I really want to learn more about it. I found really interesting subject to my reaction paper about marketing funnels and customer journey maps and I think these will definitely help me in the future working with tourism.
I do have one small issue with this unit though: I have never written (or read) a blog or anything similar. I’m not active on social media or have never used any of the tools what the work shops are about. So, everything will be new for me and probably very helpful since this is how the marketing works now.
I saw there are several work shops where we need to write a blog post and I find it a bit scary. I’m used to write a lot at work, but mostly instructions to other employees or email replies to enquires.
I feel excited to be able to learn new skills as blogging!
Thanks for reading my post.
Do you have previous experience of blogging? Can you give me few helpful tips to improve my skills.
