Happy New Year 2024 folks! Last Christmas was so wonderful for me. I had so many meetings before the Christmas and after that as well. Would you like to hear something about Santa’s duties?

Meetings

Santa had a lot of private meeting since November. People from all over the world wanted to see him personally. Some of the meetings in a forest or at the fireplace. The clients walking and wondering the beauty of Lapland’s nature on its best. And suddenly, Santa jumps in from the woods, starting to have a conversation with the family. Knowing their names, ages, hobbies and best friends in advance. Well, usually children are shocked. Maybe their parents have been scaring them, or then the parents have not been good the whole year. I once met a boy from Liverpool. He shouted at once: “I’ve been good for five days!” Well, it was already November, so that was not too well.

Christmas in Lapland

Typically Finnish families are used to that fact, that Santa is from Finnish Lapland. And that’s why the families want a real Santa Claus to meet the children and give the gifts. Some of them are singing and doing different performances as well. Sometimes Santa himself sings along, or even plays the piano if there is one around. I have to mention, Santa started to practice piano playing 200 Years ago, and still a lot of rehearsals needed.

What is Santa Claus doing after Christmas?

Many people have been asking me, what do I do when Christmas is over. Of course I am a bit tired after going around the world in one night and I have to rest a while. But then, a lot of letters to read all the time, people wanting to give thanks for the presents they got and of course, I prepare for the next Christmas. My main hobby is ice swimming, I can tell you that secret in here. It keeps me fresh and I feel so good afterwards. Not bad for the 400 years old old-timer. And my healthy bases to Mrs Santa’s delicious rice porridge. In Finland we call it Christmas porridge, but I eat it every morning and evening.

In a photo is my favourite elf called Inksuli. She just graduated from The Elf School. Would you like to join? I need new elves all the time to help me in different duties. The Elf School, it only takes 99 Years. Don’t worry, time flies.
