Towards the end of last year, the CHARTER project, in collaboration with a number of other projects (POVAUS<\/a>, CLIMINI<\/a> and POMURI<\/a>) organised a workshop in Inari in connection with the Reindeer and Fish Science Days (Poro- ja kalap\u00e4iv\u00e4t<\/em>). The objective of the interactive workshop was to examine and discuss the current state and future developments of reindeer husbandry and how reindeer herders can prepare for surprising future developments – examining the ‘dreams and surprises’ that reindeer herders have for the coming decades.\u00a0This workshop was a little different in that it used specially created playing cards to generate wide ranging discussions on these ‘dreams and surprises’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop was attended by nearly 40 people, and we are now publishing two working papers which give an overview of the goals, aims and recommendations that emerged from it.
