The town of Gullsp\u00e5ng borders on lake V\u00e4nern and has a population of about 1200.<\/p>\n<p>Laxen takes its name from the salmon that travel upriver past Gullsp\u00e5ng each spring. A salmon stair allows the fish to reach its spawning area.<\/p>\n<p>The cooperative has 29 members but employs more people than just the cooperators. The areas of activity of the cooperative are in tourist information, gardening and forestry as well as handicrafts.
