Last week we finally started to work on our Destination Development Project in Rovaniemi. We able to rent the university’s car and made us on our way. After a brief tutoring with Teija on Friday we visited the Santa Claus Village were we could have a look into the Roosevelt Cottage. Actually, we were really surprised as we saw the cottage, as we did not expect it to be that well equipped. We took some photos and were brainstorming about our possibilities to turn this cottage into something new.

On Saturday we firstly went to the airport in Rovaniemi, as we were told that we can see there the movement of the Arctic Circle. Although, we decided not to include this attraction into our project, we had a great time there and took some amazing photos. Afterwards we visited the Arctic Center to get some further ideas for our project. It was the first time I experienced -10 °C in Rovaniemi and I somehow really felt like a snowman. It is just really crazy.

After visiting all the places, we wanted to include into our project, we had a meeting and began to brainstorm some ideas. Moreover, we created our Instagram account and posted the pictures of experiences in Rovaniemi. We were really excited about it, as we got some really good photos. Unfortunately, we were not able to win the Instagram challenge and beat the Dalarna group. However, if you want to visit our Instagram account click here.

I will keep you updated with the final destination program we came up with.
