Finally, eExperiences in Destination intensive course together with Albina Paskevich and her master students is to begin! There has been a five-month-long planning process with Albina, a German travel agency “Titanic Reisen”. Thank you Georg and your team in Berlin!
It sounds quite incredible, but we had to buy train tickets from Rovaniemi to Dalarna Region from Germany as we could not find a Finnish travel agency which could like to make reservations to Swedish trains! Luckily my daughter knew a travel agency in Berlin which is specialized in travelling in trains.
Another surprise was that the travelling time would be approx. 24 hours! I was quite exited and felt really young as I would travel with my students and by Interrail Pass the very first time in my life.
I am also very pleased with the programme and the assignments we planned together with Albina around the theme “Re-interpreting Heritage in Tourism”. Luckily we could apply the concept of experiential intensive course of TURID into our planning. In addition we were able to utilize the mobility grants for us teachers and for students from Lapland University of Applied Sciences, Multidimensional Tourism Institute. Last week, during Albina´s teacher´s exchange programme, Albina could get to know the students who are coming to Dalarna Region and also see, how they have been studying heritage and tourism issues as their pre-assignment.
The official programme will start within an hour… so, I have to go now, but “vi hörs!”
