It’s been a long time I have not seen you guys because of traveling. Do you want to know where Joan visited and what did she do there? Read this!
Why hidden gem of Scandinavia? Where is that place?
The answer is Piteå – which is perfectly fit for the quote “Don’t judge a book by its cover”.
Piteå is not famously known in Lapland area, when its main competitors are Rovaniemi, Tromso and Luleå. In the Eastern parts of Swedish lapland, along the 300 kilometers coastline beside the largest brackish water archipelago in the world, you will find the glistening coastal gem, Piteå. Piteå is attractive both summer and winter for who love adventure, heritage, and culture.
I visited Piteå in the most beautiful season here – autumn. We had a one-day trip to different places in Piteå. Every place has its own uniqueness and provide different experiences to customers. Pite Havsbad is one example that needs to be mentioned here. The building is located in front of the beach with many unexpected services that I cannot even imagine. A waterpark inside the resort, golf area and bowling for kids, separated building for Spa with many services provided and also, a lot more.
Talking about accommodation, I have to put KUST hotel to the list. KUST is the 4-star hotel which is the newest hotel in Piteå. Through the hotel manager, we can know that the owner of this hotel put very high concentration on every details of KUST. From the decoration of the lobby, the creation and using of its own font, to the restaurant and spa.
The hotel brings high-end atmosphere for whoever visits it. The restaurant Tage puts Piteå right at the top of the map of Sweden’s best restaurants. It gives a modern classic overlooking half of the Norrbotten region. Put on more step to the next floor and there it is – a sky bar. What I love about KUST is the passion they put in their products and services. In the spa zone, the walls are decorated like the ocean waves and real moss are also put on the wall to bring the natural and fresh feeling to customers.
Öjebyn church town – where I left my heart in. Everything is set around dates back to the early 1400s. I am impressed how Swedish government and citizen can preserve the town until now. You can feel the feeling of old time when wandering around this small town, seeing every house and architecture. Piteå wants to build the city closer and connected. Piteå are also surround by habours. Summer activities are provided by tourism companies such as seal watching and kayaking.
I have spent one of my best autumn season in Sweden, taking a lot of photos and visiting a lot of interesting places. Further development will be released after this blog post! Stay tuned.
Have a nice day everyone!
