If you read my previous article on how I turned a mistake into a big opportunity, you will understand what I mean. Once again, my name is Phuc but people call me Patrick. I will tell you how Finland helped me accomplish my desire career.

About Myself

I was born and raised in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s southern capital. In Ho Chi Minh City, which is full of diverse cuisines from all over the world, I’m really enthusiastic about different cuisines and dishes, which fuels my desire to work in a restaurant. After working in several locations around Vietnam from small street food shop to high quality restaurant. I want to extend my experience and knowledge outside Vietnam. I chose to attend Lapland UAS for the Hospitality Management, Tourism degree.

While living in Rovaniemi, I have been working in restaurant Himo for more than 2 years. Here, I have been taught by the best sushi maker in Rovaniemi and have a change to practice to be a sous chef. I enjoyed my time here, but the pandemic forced me to go to Helsinki in search of new opportunities.

Next Opportunities in Helsinki

The pandemic scenario prompted me to go to Helsinki in search of new possibilities and a greater level of challenge for myself. At the moment, I am employed at KOKORO Sushi in Vallila and Kallio. However, the business is not very optimistic after opened in Kallio. The owner wants to transform his sushi bar into a ramen and Izakaya-style eatery. In exchange for developing a new acceptable menu, they propose me to take over as head chef. The makeover will be ready soon. That was a wonderful chance that pushed me to advance in my profession. I’ll do my best to make it as successful as possible.

This week’s plans include a study tour in Kuhmo, Kainuu. Unfortunately, I will not be able to go with my classmates, but I am looking forward to seeing their photographs and discussing the locations. My next blog will be discussing my pre-experience with those locations, and don’t forget to check out my friend’s blogs! Thank you, and God bless!!!!
