Tourism as a lifestyle or addiction ?

You probably noticed that after the one trip you are dreaming of a new one. But how to define the line between traveling becoming a lifestyle or addiction? I think that is where it started. Hi! My name is Liisa and I am from Siberia. My very first trip took place 4,522.8 km from Rovaniemi, 24 years ago. And after that it got worse, one country, two, three …

I lost count.

So how did I end up in Rovaniemi? This is a long story of a logical chain, a part of which I want to share with you.

For now, I have been in Finland for 15 years. After high school, I came across a problem that probably many of us are facing. What’s next? Who do I want to be when I grow up? So I didn’t notice how I graduated form the Tourism service provider and managed to work in many tourism fields such as hotels, restaurants, bars, ski resorts and much more. At that moment, I realised that I wanted something more exotic and my choice fell on Lapland. It was love at first sight.

After 3 years of study and living in Rovaniemi, I can say that I am exactly where I should be. To connect my addiction on travel and my field of activity was the best decision in my life.

Since in the distant past I was fond of photography and at the moment I am into snowboarding and knitting. What a combo, right?  What comes to studying I am at my last stage of education in Lapland University of Applied Sciences and I am excited about my future career as a  Bachelor of Hospitality.

Speaking of photography, although I do not do this professionally anymore, you can get to know my daily works on Instagram.

See you around!
