Hi! I am Marc, fourth year student of Tourism in Lapland University of Applied Sciences. Originally from Barcelona, Catalonia. I grew up in a multicultural environment in my own house. My dad from Barcelona, always outgoing, positive, loud, passionate and my mom from Finland, ethic, logical, introverted, self-sufficient. I studied different careers and had different jobs, not always with the best outcomes. I had a good standard life but something was missing in my life.
Big Change
After 28 years living in Barcelona I decided to leave everything and explore my other half….. Finland. In Finland I felt like at home. I lived in south Finland for a few years. In summer I traveled around the world and in winter I worked as a guide in Lapland. That was my way of life and I am still doing. I fell in love with the nature and specially with the winter in Lapland but also I like to discover new places and cultures. After few years working as a guide, I decided to study Tourism to apply the knowledge and my experience in my work life.
Future
Usually I don’t make medium-long time plans but after 3 years studying that stage of life comes to an end. I have been working as guide and supervisor in Lapland Safaris while studying here in Rovaniemi that give me the option to stay in the same company for the future but on the other side I am a free spirit, and I would like to fly and live in other places of the world. Life has smiled to me until now and I hope that continues for a long time.
