Welcome to read about me, Aino, and my pre-experiences of Latvia and its nature while I’m preparing for a journey through Tukums’ nature! 🌿🌄

ME, NATURE, CHILDHOOD AND FOREST

Personally, I love nature and fascinating landscapes from changing seasons and weather conditions to mountains, forests and waterways. In the middle of nature and silent soundscape, my soul calms down. Maybe the reason for that is that I have always lived in the middle of nature here in Lapland! 🌊🌲

My favourite childhood memories are the imaginative children’s plays, most of them were in the heart of nature. As a kid, I built a shelter together with my friends for the forest’s fairies and trolls. Many Finnish children’s songs are nature-related and so are my favorite childhood songs. One of them is called “Päivasäde ja Menninkäinen” meaning “The Goblin and the Ray of Light”. It describes the life and impossible love between the forest’s fairy-tale characters. 🧚♀🧙♂🎶🌳

I like to spend time in nature, go hiking and enjoy the atmospheric campfire. I enjoy nature with my family and friends, but I also appreciate the silence there by myself. Especially when I’m stressed, I go to forests and nearby water bodies to relax and process my thoughts. 🧘‍♀️💭

PREPARING FOR A JOURNEY THROUGH TUKUM’S NATURE

Now, at the age of 23, my tourism studies are reaching an end. I am participating in the International Destination Experience Project and preparing for a journey through Tukums’ nature. Together with my fellow students, we are given an opportunity to travel to Latvia. There we will do a destination experience development task in the Tukums area, with my group concentrating on nature tourism. I have never been to Latvia before so I am excited to go on this journey to learn about the country and its nature! 🌍🇱🇻

I have done pre-research about Latvia and found out that it is known for its scenic landscapes and rich history. The Tukums region offers attractions from dense forests to calm lakes. You can spend time in nature parks and travel the shores of the Baltic Sea. In the middle of the nature of Latvia, you can walk refreshing hikes or enjoy a peaceful picnic. It sounds like a paradise for a nature-lover like me! 🌲📸

Join this journey with me to find out more about Latvian nature and all its opportunities! 😍

  1. Well done, the checklist items can be found in your blog post very well!
You described your relationship with nature very well. From the viewpoint of a tourist, you may have described in more detail why the Tukums region is a suitable nature-tourism destination to choose (or does the online content support that?).
In the image caption, I would have added a link to the photo on Flickr.
