Even the tourist information in Tukums municipality is supportive, it does not provide many options for tourists to find these information online. Also the Visit Tukums app does not available on IOS. It can be deny that there are many beautiful images about Tukums on Google. However, that are not enough. Not all of that picture goes with a description about the place and how to get there. Though there is information on travel and leisure in Tukums, Kandava, Engure, and Jaunpils is included in “Visit Tukums”, it is not available in IOS. This will be a minus for Apple users since they have to do more research than Androi users. Another minus is that the Visit Tukums Facebook page, which is mainly in Latvian. Nowadays, visitors can translate it into their own preferred language but it is hard to attract them at their first sight no matter how interesting the content is.
The on-site experience is much better since there is a tourist information in the center of Tukums municipality. They offer a tons of free paper materials about tourism in Tukums. As a tourist, this is a huge plus when traveling. With these free brochures, tourists will be able to travel nearby places without using too much internet.
Suggestion for marketing in Tukums.
Facebook page is a potential tool for marketing. Therefore, it is much more reachable for visitors if all the posts on Visit Tukums page are written in both Latvian and English. Tukums has a specific theme for its city – Cats and Roses but this is not emphasized on any channels or webs. Promoting the theme more on social media also helps guests impressed more about the municipality. An example for this theme promotion is Visit Rovaniemi – The Official Hometown of Santa Claus. They has been optimizing their theme about Santa Claus significantly. Another great thing about Visit Rovaniemi that could be used on Visit Tukums is high light post which is about how to get to Rovaniemi. This is such a important and useful information for any tourists.
Tukums is still a raw gem in tourism industry since it needs a lot of marketing and innovation. This is a long process for Tukums to be well known as a tourism destination in the future. But with a smart marketing strategy, this process will be shorten.
