Kieringin Lomakyl\u00e4 Oy is located in the middle of Finnish Lapland, Kierinki village. Very little is known about early history of Kierinki, only a few artefacts have been found. In 19th<\/sup> century, Heikki Vierel\u00e4 found the iron axe blade on the beach side of the village related to 900 A.D. of Northern Norway. The population of the village has changed over time, in 1815 the population was 21 people, in the 1850s the population began to increase with the appearance of new facilities. Nowadays, the number of inhabitants is around 100.<\/p>\n

The unspoiled nature, traditions and history which were preserved through the centuries, attract visitors to the village. The company offers cosy, Lappish-style accommodation: hotel, holiday apartments, guest houses grandma cabins. The guests have opportunity to visit Kierinki shop and cafe. The yellow Hietala building may not remain unnoticed when visiting the place. It is a restaurant and a venue for meetings, weddings, exhibitions and other events. Kieringin Loma has possibilities for summer and winter activities: fishing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, camping, boating, etc. The visitors have an opportunity to get remarkable experience to feel real Lappish spirit. The company has highland cattle, mostly, animals are used for meat.<\/p>\n

During the visit, the owner was telling us about stories and fairy tales about the place.\u00a0<\/span>One of these stories is about the witch who lived in Kierinki village in 19<\/span>th<\/sup> century. Eeva Maria Kurt was a sailor, a healer and a witch. Samuli Paulaharju has been interviewing Eve Kurt. He had received spells from Kurt to heal people and cattle, and \u00a0help to exorcise the devil. In addition, there is an interesting fact that the founder of Martiini knifes, Janne Martiini was born in Kierinki village.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
