Introduction

Tripadvisor is a programme that is aimed at travelers. It allows travelers to choose from a variety of places to visit, to plan their visit, to read information about a place and other people’s comments. The companies that provide services to travelers receive an appraisal of their services and feedback on them.

In order to start using this programme, users only need to do two things: download it and register with it. It is free for ordinary users. But for companies it is paid and pays for half a year in advance at once. For that tripadvisor posts information about the company and users have the opportunity to book and see listings. Tripadvisor also earns money through ads that are placed on the website.

  1. Hi! Thanks for introducing TripAdvisor which I have never really heard of before. Seems like the program is very easy to start using, which is always good. 😀

I really like the fact that the program is available offline because no wifi seems to be often a problem for travelers. Also, I like that TripAdvisor offers seeing reviews, planning the trip as well as communicating with destinations all in the same program. That makes it a lot easier for travelers: no need to find information from many different sources. Seems very useful to me! 🙂

  2. Thanks for the comprehensive article on the TripAdvisor app. You identified a lot of features I was not aware of.

This looks like a wonderful resource for tourism businesses and customers alike. I suppose this kind of service promotes transparency and has the effect of improving service and quality. I just hope they are able to somehow cope with all the fake reviews; a million of them in 2020, according to mainstream media sources. Instead of relying 100% on an app, people might be advised to get a 2nd opinion before committing to a booking. At least, I think I would.

  3. Thank you for this interesting and inspiring article on Trip Advisor. I find in this blog a lot of information that I had never heard before. The blog reads smoothly and you want to read it to the end. Well done 🙂
For many years now, Trip Advisor has been a very important aspect for hospitality companies to take care of and give them a lot of attention. Especially with regard to reviews. I can’t deny that I also use it before going to a certain place. I focus a lot on the photos posted by customers, which describe the location in an authentic way. Since most of the time, the photos posted by companies, do not represent the truth. On the reviews in itself I do not dwell much especially if they are not in high enough numbers and close to the date on which I will go.

  4. Thanks for the article and good comments. Since you used online sources, you could have added them as links to anchor texts.
The tutorial is from 2016. Do you think it is still valid? A tutorial for businesses would have been supergood. Any YouTube video would work better if embedded, adding visualization to your post.
How about your favourite TripAdvisor profiles?

  5. Hi,

During travel planning, instead of having to search for many places, it’s convenient that I just need to go to one website to see many different destinations. In addition, I can see the reviews of other customers, and if the authenticity is high, even better.

I didn’t know that TripAdvisor can be available offline. This is a really useful function, since travelers don’t always have a Wi-Fi connection.

Thanks for the informative blog post!

  6. Hi Adrian and Aleksei!

I have to say that I know about TripAdvisor and I have used it some times but it is not the platform I use the most when travelling or at least when booking. Anyways, I feel like it is the top 1 platform when looking for reviews of restaurants, stays and so, and nowadays reviews are a huge part of tourism and they can be the reason why someone decides to end up going or not.
I love the idea of TripAdvisor and I think whoever created it had a brilliant business idea that has changed the tourism sector a lot.

Thank you for all the information you have provided!

  7. Hi there!

You have chosen a nice topic to write about, so thank you for that! Personally I have only used TripAdvisor for looking at the reviews of restaurants and some activities, so i’m not really that familiar with TripAdvisor and what else it can be used for. Reading your post definitely helped me learn more about the usage of the tool.
It was very nice to read the blog, since everything was written very clear and the paragraphs weren’t too long.
You guys did a great job!
