There are thousands of kilometers of cross-country ski trails in Lapland. Along the ski trails, you can find shelters with a fireplace, called laavu. These are great places to have a break and enjoy some refreshments and food. If you want to go enjoy nature and untouched deep snow (umpihanki) by foot, snowshoes are definitely a great choice. If you fancy speed and motorized vehicles, then snowmobiling is your thing.

Be aware that there are certain rules to be followed on the ski trail, like never to walk on a trail. If you break the rule, you may encounter some angry skiers.
