Welcome to plan concepts for\u00a0<\/span>nature-based\u00a0<\/span>tourism products!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The term \u201cconcept\u201d might be unfamiliar to you.\u00a0<\/span>Here we use that term about service products that have been planned\u00a0<\/span>according to certain principles,\u00a0<\/span>creat<\/span>ing an even-quality experience aimed at a\u00a0<\/span>carefully-defined<\/span>\u00a0customer<\/span>\u00a0group<\/span>, always keeping in mind the company and destination\u00a0<\/span>identity.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The material was first inspired by Tiia Sammallahti’s book on <\/span>concept planning. <\/span>Several service design methods are introduced, such as<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>principles of\u00a0<\/span>creat<\/span>ing<\/span> a customer persona and a customer journey. Service design thinking is a holistic, customer-centric approach with an empathetic understanding of customer needs in designing products and services.<\/span><\/p>\n

We mostly take the view of Finland as an operating environment for nature-based tourism, but the principles can be adapted to other countries, as well.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In each lesson, there are tasks and documents to fill in, to help you take the ideas immediately into practice.<\/p>\n

There are also\u00a0<\/span>links to already existing m<\/span>aterials for further reading<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>Although the course is in English,<\/span>\u00a0there are<\/span> numerous links to <\/span>recommendable materials that are in Finnish.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The topic of marketing is discussed very briefly, and sales channels are left out from the material altogether.
