The theme of the conference was traditional knowledge. Traditional knowledge touches Indigenous peoples very deeply and on many levels – it is not just a collection of facts or skills, but an essential part of our culture, identity, and worldview.

The main objective of the Youth Council is to promote the cultural and language rights of Sámi youth around Finland and to strengthen Sámi youths’ sense of belonging to Sámi culture. The Youth Council also prepares statements, initiatives, and other declarations for the Sámi Parliament that relate to Sámi youth or their living conditions. In the Rievdan art workshop, participants created image transfer artworks using their own photographs on wooden surfaces. They expressed thoughts or statements on the theme of change and will also participate in the project’s final exhibition in Inari in 2026.

Next day in the postcard workshop, participants had the opportunity to draw and paint meaningful or important places related to the conference’s Árbditehu (Traditional Knowledge) theme. The postcards were later in August included as part of the Ráhkis báiki installation in Rovaniemi, at the Valo Gallery exhibition.
