My practical training experiences

My basic training is worked in the Safartica. The Safartica company is the local tourist company which located in the Rovaniemi. There have different kind of arctic traditional and natural activities which you can book from this tourist company. For example, snowmobile safari, husky safari, northern light tours, forest skiing, ice-floating etc. The tourist can book them form the internet in advance or in the office. Furthermore, they have own equipment, multilingual and guides. So the consumers don’t need to worried about anything. They only need to do is enjoy the top fun during the safari. To be honest, the Safartica is reliable choice. For my work is about the customer service which use English and my native language, Chinese. I need to service them face to face, by phone as well as by email.

After training finished, I think the most important thing that I need to do is improve my listening of English and try used to listen the different speaker who comes from different countries. In other words, make more different friends of countries and always use the English to talk with them. I believe I can overcome this problem when do the advanced training next time.

My advanced training is worked in the 2 open EU CN, S.L.U. The 2 open EU CN, S.L.U company is located in the Madrid, Spain and is related about the digital marketing & sale. This company is developing the Chinese market at the moment. Basically, this company have different kind of services. For example, strategic consultation, e-commerce fulfillment and etc. Both of them is about the digital marketing and sale. The goal of this company is to optimize the electronic sales system of a certain team in China. Provide constructive services and advice. And through the accurate analysis of data, unique insights and innovative ideas make a positive contribution to the team.

As an intern, I put all my efforts into the tasks given by the company such as international teamwork ability and good communication skills, optimistic working attitudes or the relevant skills in social networking. More importantly, it requires highly concentration and strong analytical skills when working as a business data analyst in the company. In the beginning, I did not quite understand that much in this position at some point in specific tasks associated data collection management and analysis on competitor’s statistics. However, I started to be interested in those tasks from time to time and slowly be familiar with the methods or strategies to get the information required by the company. For instance, I was able to find the major competitors in the same industry in both local and international market, and provide the executor with marketing researches, expectations of customers on pointed products in numbers, which helps a lot in decision making for company.  In a word, I am more confident than it was in both collecting and analyzing skills in business environment. Certainly, the abilities to be familiar with major public social media and the methods of using it for business purposes. As for the feedback from tutor regarding future placement on the same position, to accurately capture the key factors that target groups needs from massive information collected is the most important thing. Also spend more time on practicing the words expression ability. Try to use key words instead long sentences when putting it into working report.

The project which I have participated

I have took part in one project which called “Our Stories” when I was the second year student and our team topic is about the Sami culture. Basically, our project is to plan and organize a seminar and workshop for story tellers, companies and all other stakeholders who are involved in and will be benefited from the cross-border stories creation and storytelling which aim to preserve local culture heritage and common identity and promote tourism sector as well. We offer a platform for all participants to share information, exchange ideas and negotiate for getting further progress regarding both local communities and business development.

The overall objective of our project is advancement of storytelling as a successful marketing tool in the North Calotte region and Northern Lights Route by identifying inspiring local and cross-border stories. Through stories the project will raise curiosity about that region with beneficiaries (tourism companies) and make it more desirable to spend more time in the region. The specific objective is to organize seminar and creative workshop in order to improve storytelling abilities by offering story design tools for tourism companies and other stakeholders and inspire them.

We have talked the Arktikum museum (Rovaniemi), Gold Prospector museum (Ivalo), Sami museum (Inari). Both of them have the exhibits which present the Sami culture.   In addition, we also introduce the Sami musicians and literature.

I had more understanding about he Sami culture and learned how to make the teamwork better after the project. In other words, I enjoyed the process of project and I hope I can have more have chance to participate this kind of project again!
