,,,During International Marketing Tools course we had a visitor from Lappset Group company who talked about their company’s marketing strategy. In this blog I would like to share my experience and what I have learned from this presentation.,,,

 

What were the main points I got from the presentation?

The goals of Lappset are being divided for each quarter. Number one priority is to acquire new clients and boost sales. Brand awareness is also one of the most important goals of Lappset. It tries to stay relevant to its audience as much as possible and actively improves its social media accounts. Their main objective is to gain more traffic from social media channels, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Pinterest. All the channels are used for different proposes, for example, on Instagram they create sport related posts and on YouTube they share only video content.

Did I disagree in some points with the visitor?

It definitely was a great experience for me and my class to learn more about the marketing strategies of Lappset. Based on my prior experiences and knowledge of marketing, I found a lot of similarities in marketing strategies of Lappset and the company I worked for.

What did I learn about the marketing used in the company?

Lappset uses different marketing strategies to promote their brand. Lappset does visual marketing, namely, organizing photoshoots and creating digital and printed brochures. They organizes events for business-people from all over the world to tell about their company, introduce their products, etc. Additionally, they create blogs with very entertaining content, for instance “11 unique playgrounds”, “5 ways of creating a great playground” and many other topics that people like to read about. Lappset also cooperates with famous bloggers-fitness trainers who write blogs about effective training with Lappset training equipment.

Would I like to work in marketing?

During my former internship, I could build and strengthen my digital marketing skills and acquire a great knowledge of e-commerce and the Key Marketing KPIs. This experience awakened my passion in digital marketing and I would very much like to connect my future career with marketing.

What did I learn from the visitor?

One of the most interesting thing that I have learned from this presentation was the marketing automation tool on Lappset Group’s official website. This tool provides information about the visitors of the website and their search results. Then the potential customers (website users who seem to be interested in Lappset’s products) will be contacted via e-mail. In addition to this, website users can subscribe to Lappset news channel in order to stay updated with the latest news and developments of the brand.
