The slush under your sneakers

Again, is that time of the year in Finland when days are getting longer, and the sun feels warm on your skin. In the morning you wake up to birds singing and start getting ready for your day. However, when you go outside the ground is covered in slush and puddles. While walking to the campus you almost slip because of the black ice and the sneakers you decided to wear after a long time get soaked. In those moments you might wish you would be somewhere else. At least I do.

Enjoy beautiful architecture & tasty food

I wish I could go back to Portugal to enjoy sunshine. This country has all kind of things to offer for different kind of travelers. Lisbon is the capital of Portugal, and it is full of historical attractions. the architecture in Portugal has small details and many colors. There are also many small cafes where you can taste the famous Portuguese pastry called Pastel de Belém. Portugal is famous for their tasty seafood and wines. This makes the country is suitable for culinary tourists or basically anyone who likes to enjoy tasty food.

If you are on a long weekend trip in Lisbon and want to make a day trip outside of the city, Sintra is the place to visit. There you can see the Pena Palace which is just like from a fairy-tale. Also, the city is just around 30 kilometres away from Lisbon.

Unique Beaches

Algarve in South-Portugal is perfect place if you desire to go lay on the beach and just relax. The beaches are unique with magnificent rocks and caves. You can go for a refreshing swim into the Atlantic Ocean if the weather is little bit too hot for you. Also, going to the beach in the evening to breath the sea air and watch when the sun sets behind the ocean.
