Joonas Vola, Junior researcher
Joonas Vola (Master of Social Sciences, University of Lapland) is a junior researcher in the Culture Based Service Design doctoral programme and a scholar in political science in the Faculty of Social Sciences. His academic interest concentrates on post-human studies and feminist philosophy, aiming to study different borderlines and liminalities defining ‘human’, and to break epistemological boundaries. Vola’s current work concerns the performative characteristics of Arctic representations, balancing on the axis of science and art.
In my free time I consume a great deal of different kind of audio-visual material from films to music, sharing time and thoughts with friends and colleagues, and when I have an opportunity, I go to the lake district of Eastern Finland, to visit its waters.
